Speaking of Delany… there's going to be a screening of "The Polymath, or, The Life and Opinions of Samuel R. Delany, Gentleman" at the Maysles Institute in Harlem, on Friday, October 1.

I just saw the DVD last week. In it, Delany talks a great deal about "the etiquette of public sex," particularly in the old Times Square porn theaters and the (now closed) subway restrooms.

No mention of it on the Maysles Institute site, but here's info from The Polymath Facebook page, presumably posted by the director, Fred Barney Taylor:

Friday, October 1 · 7:00pm - 10:00pm Maysles Institute, 343 Malcolm X Boulevard, New York, NY The Polymath will be screened at the Maysles Institute, October 1st at 7:30 as part of the series, Harlem Homegrown. Q and A with Chip and myself to follow. It will be good to have a screening in Chip's old neighborhood.
