[WS:] Indeed, and also the number of recommendations that anti-privatization opinions posted there receive. I always scan them, because they are a good indicator of popular sentiments.

The problem is, however, that public sentiments do not amount to much in America. If there is money to be made, useful idiots - bleeding hearts "saving or children" or efficiency minded "consumer advocates" - will get the lime light to sell the measure to the public as a some kind of public benefit mission, while the right wing noise machine will drown any critical voices. At the end, people will no longer remembers what their initial sentiments were, grudgingly accept the "reform" being dished out to the authorities and the business cabal.

What makes this particular case special is how blatant it is. Unlike education "reformers," these guys did not even bother to recruit useful idiots to provide a "human face" to their profiteering. They frankly talked about their true goals - unions busting and driving wages down.
