That sort of perspective is great when there's actual political pressure coming from the left and the state is forced to make concessions. That would be a wonderful time to make that sort of point. Now, when all the pressure is coming from the right, and even mildly social democratic mechanisms seen as practically Bolshevik, the criticism seems less than urgent.
