OpenOffice is better than it used to be, by a long shot, but I agree to this extent: I would never use it if I didn't need interoperability with MS Office on my Mac. Well, in fact, I *don't* use it except when I need that. Which is (if it needs to be said) not enough that it's worth buying Office. But enough that I keep OO around.
