Well, MoDo has bad politics on PRC. She should spend all her time trying to fix her own country and stay out of China's business. It's sort of journalistic ,"humanist", imperialist intervention.

On politics in Dylan's music/poetry (besides concerning the PRC), seems to me that Dylan's original popularity was dependent upon people hearing him as part of the counter-cultural movement which had a critical or necessary political protest component. "The times they are a changin'" and all that. So, for Dylan to depoliticize is kinda discarding a big part of his essence. Dylan without protest is like bread without yeast or something.
