My original point was that a $430 tow is a disaster for most people. I think the NYT or some such released info that half the country does not have $1000 in savings.

I spent half a day getting my car back. As I was on disability, it didn't cost me anything; but if you're working, you might have to choose between 1/2 day's wages and the car. Which further raises the cost.
