I was in Silver Spring in my home at that time, and it definitely felt
quite strong although not as strong as some of the quakes I
experienced in CA.  The point, however is that CA has frequent quakes
so people got used to them, but they are rather rare in the East
Coast.


>From what I hear, however, the first thought on many people's minds
was "terrorist attack" rather than "earthquake."  Brainwashing seems
to work quite well.
