Maybe they're not there yet, just wannabe. Most of their bags are 4 or 5 thousand.
A Barneys spokesperson is not very helpful:
According to Amanda Brooks of Barney's, the bags are "triple super chic." That's quite a sales pitch, Amanda. But more than being ultra super duper, The Row's bags fill a particular niche in Barneys accessories department- a high price point line that's still considered young and edgy. The Row definitely fits the bill. And, disturbingly it's working. The $39,000 leather backpack has been pre-ordered by two people already.
