We should be deeply grateful to Vivaldi for lightening up Bach's music. (This lightening influence was a general gift from Italy to its northern neighbor, and benefitted Mozart and others as well.) 

Bach was deeply interested in Vivaldi's music and transcribed a bunch of it for the organ. Really beautiful stuff.
