ha! our company is self-insured. as such, they are implementing
programs to try to get people to be healthier, but also "incent"
(*spit*) them to use their health care benefits in more cost effective
ways.

they give an example of how xrays can be effective and are less
expensive than an mri.

out of all this, someone says, "I think we need an advocate, someone
to tell us what treatments we should get and shouldn't get. i wouldn't
know that about xrays and mris."

great. she was just advocating that the company hire someone to
counsel us about whether we should get X treatment or Y, this
diagnostic or that. OMFG

the CEOs answer was, "honey, if you pay for it, you will find out
which is cheaper and educate yourself about xrays vs mris."
