Rainbow Prince I want to invite you to watch the music video I just made “Yes, I am hurt,” a love song for the occupy movement. The scene is set mainly in Occupy San Francisco.

The Market Street encampment and its magical Wishing Tree were dismantled, but live on in this video.

Occupy Hollywood We're NYC-based but excited to hear what you guys are about to do. A march has been planned down H'wood Blvd to Juno and down to Paramount, but it sounds like you're a lot further ahead than we are. Keep us posted - we may be able to coordinate.

BREAKING: SUPREME COURT RULES AGAINST ASCAP - MUSIC DOWNLOADS ARE NOT PUBLIC PERFORMANCES - The Supreme Court let stand on Monday a ruling against ASCAP that a traditional Internet download of sound recording does not constitute a public performance of the recorded musical work under federal copyright law. The justices refused to review a ruling by an appeals court in New York that the download itself of a musical work does not fall within the law’s definition of a public performance of that work. ASCAP says the ruling has profound implications for the nation’s music industry, costing its members tens of millions of dollars in potential royalties each year.

Occupy Hollywood ‎"ASCAP's members" - complete bullshit. RIAA touted the same lie, but composers and artists continue to maintain very few of these royalties ever reach their mailboxes - instead, exactly as the case with Screen Actors Guild and other corrupt guilds hiding corporatism behind the lie of "solidarity", the vast majority of the payday goes to guess who?

An Occupy Hollywood member entered AFTRA Headquarters New York City this morning and reportedly spoke to the receptionist, telling her to pass the message upstairs: NO SAG-AFTRA merger, for the sake of struggling actors and the sake of AFTRA. The receptionist says we have permission to contact AFTRA's Board of Directors and Chairman and provided us their contact information. The war against talent union monopoly is officially on. If you oppose the SAG-AFTRA merger (and if you are a struggling actor or independent director, you should), contact us for details.

We met with a representative from the National Press Photographers Association this morning. It turns out news videographers are charged permit fees and even restricted from parking near the news events they cover in New York City, and at least one member of NPPA wants to attend next week's Occupy Hollywood GA. We welcome television cameramen to this organization and say, Welcome Aboard! More details as they arrive.

NYT commenter Daniel Guidera adds, "It's nastier still that several of these photos show youngish, presumably lower-rung employees unctuously clowning for their corporate masters. Whomever is making the millions running this foreclosure mill will one day throw these performing seals to the wolves just as soon as look at them."

Occupy Hollywood Remember those words, because we'll be using them again when we rise up to confront corruption at Screen Actors Guild as well as the agencies and studios. Actors who are not in the top tier of earners are seen by SAG as performing seals, and as SAG treats non-actors, so shall SAG inevitably treat them.

Occupy Hollywood As a friendly reminder, this is Tom Cruise's house. If you are in SAG and do not earn enough to buy this type of house, your union doesn't give a damn about you. Don't believe us? Ask them to find you an acting job before Christmas, and see. http://www.livingdesignhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/tom-cruise-1.jpg

Occupy Hollywood We are not anti-union. HELL, NO. We are not anti-SAG. However, we are pro AFTRA and pro IATSE, and we are anti-corruption. And, as we've stated before - if your union is not corrupt, you have nothing to worry about from us.

October 31 at 5:22pm · Like · 1

Occupy Hollywood SAG needs to become a true union again and start caring about its struggling not-yet-a-star actors as much as it does Cruz and Cruise. Until then, they can kiss OH's collective ass.

During the 1990s, a few of us predicted if US capitalism ever abused its power worse than it had in the 1980s, America was going to veer in the direction of Communism. Folks laughed. Take a look at this poster out of Oakland announcing the General Strike - which it's reported at Daily KOS that SEIU has just joined. What system of government's art does this clearly resemble? Three guesses, and the last two don't count.

‎10. An end to cities charging permit fees for independent filmmakers to film within city limits, and a repayment made to each and every filmmaker who has already been so charged. New York City becomes a free zone for NYC resident tax payer filmmakers, with no more permits required of them by the city to shoot, ever again.

‎8. A retraction of the ban on the depiction of cigarette smoking seen in films, and a complete repudiation and rejection of political correctness in cinema. If it happens in life, or it ever did, we have the right to show it. Period. No further discussion.
