[WS:] Many, I suppose. The one that interests me is the articulation of a certain view of the relationship between what we say or write and the objects denoted by speech or writing. In this view, the way we perceive reality is shaped by the way our society is structured, which in itself is neither good nor bad. It follows that different societies can construct different cognitive categories which in turn render different depictions of reality. The bad thing is not seeing it and believing that what was in fact created by our socially constructed cognitive process exists in reality itself and thus makes it impossible for an alternative perception to be true.
It interests me because in my opinion it has a certain value as a polemical device in discussions about the attributes and behavior of modern political institutions. But beyond that, I have little interest in it.
