I think Hitchens’s sneery act requires a certain kind of milieu or at least convention - such as a panel of dons and intellectuals (at least people who perceive themselves as intellectuals, like D’Souza does). It doesn’t seem to work quite well with someone direct like Galloway. I do not know Galloway’s background, but he gives off the vibes of a backroom brawler, the kind of guy who might just reach across and slap that sneer off your face, if you tried playing games with your argument (kind of like Carrol here on LBO :-) <— kidding).
