Yes. So they insisted. But I always had the very strong impression that Islam got their juices flowing a lot more than any other religion.

Sorry if it sounded like prejudice, but in fact it's not. (Oh and I think the world of the English, by the way).

Prejudice involves making up your mind *before* experience. Actually, though,I've been quite startled by hearing English acquaintances of mine say things about Islam and Muslims that people of the same social class would hardly ever say in the US (unless they were downright Likudniks of course). I would *not* have expected it, and that's why it struck me so strongly.
