[WS:] According to Consumer Reports plasma TV is good if you want a thin TV with 42 inch screen or larger and unlimited viewing angle. Things to look for are antiglare screen and screen saving technology. The top pick in the 42-46 inch category are Panasonic Viera TC-P42S30 ($670) and Panasonic Viera TC-P42x3 ($500) - CR best pick. In 50 inch category the CR best picks are Samsung PN51D450. ($720) and LG 50PT350 ($720).

LCD models: CR recommends 40 in or larger, 120HZ technology to minimize blurr and full HD. Top pick in 37 in category is Samsung LN37C550 ($550) - 40-42 inch is Samsung UN40C5000 ($900) LG42LV3700 ($900) and Sony Bravia KDL-40EX500 ($765).

We have an older 27 in Samsung LCD which we use exclusively for watching movies (we do not watch TV at all) and it is adequate. But the price is much lower. in 27 inch category CR top pick is Toshiba 26C100U ($300) an in 32 inch category - Samsung LN32C550 ($480) and LN32C530 ($500), Sony Bravia KDL-32BX320 ($380) and Samsung UN32C4000 ($500).

The CR prices are averages, you can get much better deals online.
