What is happening in Egypt is, of course, very, very exiting and an incredible example of what is possible. Democracy Now! this morning had an excellent presentation on many aspects of what is going on.

DN this morning was good. But AJE continueous coverage is breath taking.
Anyway it's becoming apparent that Washington is heavily involved in trying to manipulate the situation behind closed doors. There are joint rumors (12:13p pst) that Mubarak is going to make an announcement. The rumor from Washington is that Obama sent a message to Mubarak---he should not run again. So that's what Washington thinks is an orderly transistion? Fuck off.
The crowd has already heard this Washington news. They are running Aljazeera around the square via satellite feedd, set up and powered by street lights.
Their answer is forget it. Out Now!
