I've just read the subject line. I agre. All aid to everyone should be cut off. If an when a coherent left exists that will be a central demand. Arms sales to anyone should also be prohibited.

So, you see the problem here, with an organization based in the US raising money to support the revolution. Even politically neutral humanitarian aid could fuel these rumors. But aid focused on creating a change of policy will provide the excuse Mubarak craves to claim that this revolution is illegitimate, and the protest part of a plot by America or Israel to promote its own interests. I quote the Tweet that prompted this message:

"Please explain to @codepink that they will accuse the revolution of being foreignly funded . It will hurt us. #jan25"

- Mahmoud Salem, known as Sandmonkey on Twitter.

I can understand CODEPINK's desire to help. I crave opportunities to help the revolution. But until Egypt's people lets us know the best way to help, the best thing we can do is share information, urge our elected representatives to be on the side of the Egyptian people, watch and pray.
