In about 1999, I stood in Kramer Books in DC, for about 30 minutes redirecting people from Friedman's book, "From Beirut to Jerusalem" to Robert Fisk's "Pity the Nation". I actually gave about four people a quick (biased) review of the latter. They chose Fisk over Friedman. I felt good. I had a brandy afterwards.
