First it looks like the police are using a much more powerful and near lethal form of tear gas. Many people are being given oxygen, with their eyes and noses running. This is a sign of severe mucus membrane reaction which is causing moderate to severe respiratory distress. Some, many, are too weak to stand. Many of the victims act like they have real difficulty breathing.
Another observation is the pellets that peppered the chest of a dead man. These were not lead heavy bird shot. They were about the same gauge, but with twin spines poking out. These are probably made of some material like steel or iron that does not deform. The reason for the spikes is the same as a barbed hook, to make it impossible to pull out, without further tissue damage. This design smacks of more advanced US crowd control designs. At a guess, only places like Bahrain can afford this ammunition. The small wounds are sufficient to cause death by a thousand cuts and shock. The genius of this shotgun pellet design is you can probably make a legal case for non-lethal crowd control ammunition.
I hope somebody gets a hold of the shotgun casting and tear gas canisters. Pretty sure they will have Made in USA.
