Two comments:
(1) The primary obstacle to viability of left-wing candidates is money.
(2) Obama's re-election chances depend overwhelmingly on the condition of the 
economy in 2012.

[WS:] Of course!  But they do it to match popular tastes and sentiments for
otherwise their stooges would get as many votes as Kucinich et al.  So if
you believe that a left wing candidate would get a majority support in the
US if it were not for the corporate media, it is you, I am afraid, who lives
in a parallel universe.
