It is evidence that there are better topics than politics when talking to him. You have nothing to say to him and he has nothing to say to you on politics, economics, etc. Talk about your favorite comics or the weather.

My central point is that it is wrong to worry about the incorrigible (incorrigible from our standpoint. Political wrongness is not stupidity or immorality anyhow. He may be an interesting person to talk to on other topics. If he wants to talk politics, smile and change the topic.
