The data is from the US Government, the analysis is from Nomi Prins. I was being conservative with the $14 trillion, by the way -- the actual total funds mobilized was $19 trillion, because the $14 trillion doesn't include the takeover of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac's $5 trillion in assets. Bottom line is, the US Fed and Treasury stepped in to guarantee $14 trillion of bankster-generated debt. They didn't spend all this money, of course, so as the liquidity crisis receded, they reduced the guarantees down to the current $7.8 trillion.
