Teachers have been in the crosshairs, so to speak, for more than the rest, and they have barely responded at all. In fact, a friend who works for one of their unions said "all is quiet in teacherland." Maybe that will change, but I fear they'll all just roll over.

That's been my impression from two teacher friends. It's like pulling teeth to get them to even think about what's coming and what to prepare for.

I think in the back of their mind, they have lost any interest in teaching, mostly because of a constant struggle with the institutional systems. They like most of their students but complain about motivation. One teaches chemistry the other algebra, hard subjects that push student's concept making abilities.

I think if these guys could leave teaching they would. Economics keeps them in place. The over all result is they ignor the brewing storms. Get through another year. That's about it.
