Angelus Novus: Question for American liberal Pollyanna Europhiles: Do you
guys actually, like, you know, read anything about Europe in the newspapers
or magazines, or are you all just basing your utopian projections on your
viewing La Dolce Vita on DVD or something?

There's a quicker path to the same end: Just take seriously the tautology
that capitalism  is capitalism.

If Europe matched the descriptions Angelus objects to, Yugoslavia migh still
be whole, there would have been no Rwanda genocide (the ultimate villain
being France),  and perhaps Third-Generation Turks (their grandfather having
moved their 50 years ago, would be German citizens.

And perhaps Black soccer players would live more peaceful lives.
