I was once on Neal Conan's Talk of the Nation. We were discussing unions in general and NAFTA in particular. Steven Greenhouse of the NYT was on too. Conan was such a condescending asshole. Not to Greenhouse, of course, but to me. He said, and not in a nice way, that most economists would disagree with my take on NAFTA. I said, well bring them on the show and we'll debate it. He really didn't like that. Later I wrote and thanked his producer for having me on the show and I repeated my offer to debate any economist Conan chose to have on. Nary a reply, not even to thank me for being on the show. NPR is full of self-important pricks like Conan.
