Meera Nanda has been noted for her critiques of postmodern thought, which within the Indian context she sees as having given intellectual credibility to Hindu fundamentalism. Hence, while pomo was originally introducted into India by leftist intellectuals, it was ultimately the right-wing that benefited since pomo arguments could be used, and were so used, to provide an updated apologetics for Hindu fundamentalism.
