[lbo-talk] David McNally's video on socialism and popular power

This is a totally unfair to the unique character and devotion to social justice demonstrated by David McNally over the last 25 years. McNally is absolutely not cast from the mold of so-called preening, egoists of which you speak. I would ask you, and anyone else, to kindly look deeper than one meager academic -- yes, academic -- seminar given by the man to levee such harsh judgments in the future. I have only had a few interactions with him, but in them he has been remarkably human and anything but pretentious. Having read much of his work, I can say that he is one of the best contemporary theoreticians and activists that the modern Marxist movement has yet to produce. He is no Zizek, nor is he a Terry Eagleton. Try reading his work, for christ's sake.
