The UN isn't doing it's job. The UN isn't doing anything. The major powers on the Security Council are utilizing the body to conduct an aggressive war against a country they know was once an anti-imperialist gadfly, and with the impending victory of Gaddafi, was posed to become once again.

The bottom line is this: Iraq and to a lesser extent Afghanistan had helped rightfully to destroy the prestige of humanitarian wars. The military intervention in Libya is helping to undo that lesson after just a few short years. In other words, hundreds of thousands of Iraqis may have died in vain.

However well this intervention goes or doesn't go, it will help pave for future bloodier engagements, just as Bosnia and Kosovo did. Except this time there's no excuse for the left not seeing it coming.
