Indeed. West has nothing to say, but he says it in a way that some of us, at least, find entertaining (though I'm not among them). Chomsky has a lot to say but also has a dry donnish manner.
As Scyllae and Charybdes go, this particular choice seems like a no-brainer. But apparently not.
