I´m with Merv, FWIW.

The only other alternative to destroying Gaddafi´s war machine in its
tracks, would have been to send UN blue helmet ground forces and
surroung Benghazi and Misurata.

Do you think that Gaddafi´s tanks wouldn´t fire on them, then?
