i think the best way to monitor is this aggregator http://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/?JavaScript=1&search=haiti
as you can see all non-western news are somehow better informed, the rest is about whities preparing meals for the poor blacks
just a few days ago the mandate for current UN leaders in charge of the MINUSTAH has expired so now there is a change of people and i don't know much where its heading, i can just imagine http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/WO1103/S00935/leaders-named-for-un-missions-in-middle-east-and-haiti.htm
for the first time Rwanda enters the picture sending police forces to the mission http://www.newtimes.co.rw/index.php?issue=14578&article=39626 (maybe repression will look better when they are ethnic african?)
> Turnout of 18%. Wow.
yes. this is a huge issue and an historical episode, all happening under the control of UN, which rushed elections without Aristide, i guess it should be remembered, esp for those lefties that are justifying UN and now NATO intervention in Lybia.
> Do you understand why Aristide returned? It seems very brave...
i think he is just living one life, pretty interesting after all, with the courage it deserves. but then i don't know much, i'd exclude foreign interests in him being there, besides some ideals that *will never die*. somehow Brasil is the hope: they are still providing military guidance to the operation and somehow always refused to crack down on Lavalas.
