Kushner's original letter to the CUNY Board and his interview on Democracy Now today makes it clear that he supports the idea of a Jewish state. He believes in a two state solution. He does not support the Boycott, Divest and Sanctions movement. He is that most reviled thing, a "liberal Zionist". My guess is that compromising American voices like Kushner's which both criticize and support Israel are actually the most threatening to bullies like Wiesenfeld at the moment exactly because they don't draw on the past ten year's polarizing rhetoric of the Israel/Palestine conflict; thus Wiesenfeld's attempt to paint Kushner as "an extremist". fm http://www.democracynow.org/seo/2011/5/10/exclusive_playwright_tony_kushner_speaks_out
