And this is a sober reading of the American political climate "a fascist anti-immigrant fervor of the *majority* of the populace"?

I guess with the fascist hordes at the gate, we should follow Melissa Harris-Perry's advice and focus our energies on lambasting the Tea Party and their ilk... this is the old trope of conceding ground to “legitimate” forces governing in the center... the liberals doing the best they can and fending off the "extremists" to their right.
