Is there any reason to believe that his proposals for a kindler,
gentler IMF would really serve as an incentive to purge him? Surely
they are just the sort of cosmetic change the institution has been
crying out for to try to repair the damage done to its reputation over
the years. It seems to me that having a "Socialist" (even if they are
PES socialists) at the helm was the best thing that could have
happened to it from a PR perspective. This certainly isn't doing it
any good.
Plus, what Doug said.
