No quarrel with that. Maybe a quibble: I find that the ad- homines that come my way generally come from people with whom I'm not much *in* solidarity to begin with. That is, the fallacious style of argument mostly seems more a symptom of dissolidarity than a cause. But of course that's a distinction that shouldn't be pressed too far by us dialectical types.
