^^^^ CB: It did produce a change in government policy precisely on point. In 1965 LBJ had US troops invade The Dominican Republic; JFK had not invaded Cuba. And , as is well known, LBJ escalated the anti-Communist war on Viet Nam. He didn't negotiate any anti-nuke treaties with the Soviets either. Johnson got the message loud and clear, and changed the policy rightward. I've said all that several times when this thread came up in the past.
