A Murdoch outlet, after all, and there must have been a ferocious reaction from Marketwatch's right-wing readers. Surprising that Weidner was given even this much leash but, as with Bernanke, Buffett, and others, it's an indication of a counteroffensive within the ruling class against the unruly Republican tea party base which is impeding a bipartisan "grand bargain" to sweeten deep spending cuts with some tax hikes.
