If you have time, www.kpfa.org is reporting live the OccupyOakland shutdown that happened today at 4:30am, used 5 helicopters, arrested 70 protesters, tore down and removed all tarps in Frank Ogawa plaza. They used cops from other cities to shut it down.

Oakland mayor Quan has been the subject of a recall (because she's first Asian female mayor) and accused of being soft on protesters by the right.

Approximately an hour ago, hundreds of Oakland police officers raided the camp. Dressed in riot gear, the police used rubber bullets, flash grenades, and gas canisters to forcibly evict and/or arrest the demonstrators who remained in the plaza.
