^^^^ CB: There is some humor in what I said (smiles)

The panthers had breakfast programs, education programs, health care programs, self-defense programs, and they were doing it for people of color in one of the most brutally policed city in the US.
^^^ CB: Well, the Black Panther breakfast program had more to do with abating poverty than police brutality. Detroit's population is 85% Black, even Blacker than Oakland circa -1965. OWS-Occupy Detriot chose a park with a lot of homeless to occupy , so, they made a very deft adjustment on the fly to get along with the local "occupants". They are giving out clothing , too. They are also joining a protest about lack of local bus service. Our local anti-police brutality coalition is in on OWS-Detroit meetings, too. It's headed by an ex-Panther.
Go OWS !
