The sloka shows up as a line in Tagore's "Four Chapters", which is one of the first coherent critiques of postcolonial nationalism. Ghatak took that radical moment in Tagore, and ran with it -- "Reason, Argument, Story" is just a mind-boggling anticipation of the transnational resistance movements to come.
