[WS:] This supports what I said earlier that business have and exercise choices which political party to support. Unions do not have such a choice - their only option is to support Democrats. And they are pretty much screwed because of that, as any threat to take their funding elsewhere do not look credible.

The only alternative strategy is to act like a "madman" - threaten to derail Democrats if they do not deliver, even if that means sacrificing the current and meager level of political representations.

That threat can only be credible if the unions establish their "madman" reputation, meaning to convey the message that they will not act "rationally" but instead they will go ballistic if they do not get what they want, even if that means losing the battle. Repugs use that strategy very effectively.
