Chomsky is a racist now? He may be wrong about BDS, but that's a bit much.

If a member of an ethnically privileged group publicly opposing the broad, consensual goals of an ethnically oppressed group, and the strategy they have chosen to reach them, is not racism, then racism has become a word without meaning and should be consigned to the dustbin of history. Perhaps some clever person will make the case for that; but if it has yet been made, here or elsewhere, I haven't seen it.
Furthermore, if Chomsky's dismissal of every major Palestinian political party and labor union, the large civic organizations, and a good number of religious and other groups as malevolent imposters - as opposed to him, who's perfectly qualified to speak on another people's behalf, of course - does not elevate his offense to the smarmiest, most condescending sort of racist paternalism, then I'm badly misinformed about not only political solidarity, but also simple manners.
