I was looking at the NYT narrative of the latest school massacre and was amazed by the writer's insistence that the six and seven year olds who were killed were full of life and joy. WTF? So, if they had been depressed or grumpy, shooting them would have been OK? 

One parent was even quoted to say that his little girl would be happy in paradise. 

Really? This is NYT material? Does the NRA now own the Times?
