btw, the feeling of trying something thrilling to feel something, and then giving up on the plan, is common to psychopaths. That's why they actually rarely DO anything. they are kind of scattershot, unable to sustain a project. they go after something full bore, hoping to get the amped up feeling they're seeking, but once they get it, or something else engages them, they are off on another thing.

Which is one reason why psychopaths don't generally going around engaging in killing sprees, when they might otherwise. They never accomplish much, in spite of intelligence and lots of energy. They can never actually *finish* anything.

So, they tried killing people for a lift, got what they wanted, realized it wasn't so great - That's probably why they didn't continue to shoot people in the cafeteria, even though they were right there, defenseless, assuming they'd be shot.
