[lbo-talk] Warren Buffet on improving public education

I went to hear Michelle Rhee speak Tuesday night -- as part of an OUSD protest, and she quoted Buffet's solution to the public education crisis. According to him what you do is make private education illegal and then use a pure lottery system to sort kids into different schools. This, he said, would result in a great and speedy improvement in public educaition. 

I applauded this suggestion enthusiastically -- the only one in an audience of 4000 to do so. Alas, Michelle took it in another direction. 

Still, it was fun.
