I found http://www.nycga.net/events/ a very useful site for an outsider to learn about the wide range of activities in New York City alone. It reinforces the impression that Occupy is not a movement, but an umbrella for many causes with divergent, if not not conflicting, goals, and that it will not develop along a single path but is sending off shoots in many directions. The anarchists and financial regulation groups and everyone in between will simply pursue their own objectives under the rubric of Occupy, periodically coming together to march and demonstrate together, much as left-wing groups have traditionally done. It as if the "Left" has changed its brand to "Occupy", appealing to "the 99%" rather than the "working class", and that this rebranding in the present conjuncture, has had an impact. Just how significant an impact, of course, remains to be seen.
