shag: there's no way to correct class inequality under capitalism is there? you can maybe impact individual life chances, but actual _class) inequality remains intact. As the Luxembourg studies point out, someone moves up the class ladder, someone else falls down.

Do you really believe that there's no way redress class inequality under capitalism? Are people on the left simply mistaken and naive when they decry the growth of inequality in the U.S., and in other countries, over the forty years? Apparently so - because class inequality can never be ameliorated, which implies that the past could have been no less economically unequal than today. A past with free or affordable higher education and rapid wage growth is the same as today. Same as it ever was.
