[lbo-talk] Indefinite Detentions in the NDAA Don’t Exactly Betray George Washington’s Values

My dad was a radio man in the South Pacific. He used to listen to Tokyo Rose every day. Those Japanese were surely no lessevil than the rulers of Iran. The CIA, the US military, and all the warmongers among US allies, listen to and watch Iranian media, but because an Iranian leftist, whom you don't know, says not to listen, you don't. I must be missing something here. Would you not listen to international US outlets because the US is the most murderous regime on the planet? Would you not do this, if say, Noam Chomsky requested it? Surely you must have listened to Radio Moscow. Heaven knows, the commissars were locking people up left and right. BTW, Tokyo Rose used to "interview" US POWs. One night my dad heard her interview a man from his hometown. He got a message to my mother to tell the guy's parents he was alive. Made their day. I'm glad dad didn't have such finely honed principles.
