it seems the Occupy Oakland coalition (the 40 000 people) that did the general strike where alienated by the property damage, fake militancy and loose behavior of the black bloc Black Bloc... the predictable police repression on that night even had a near fatality, *Kayvan Sabeghi* * * *then the arrogance of the inner circle of Occupy Oaklands favorite "anarchists" and the poor planning and research on the port shut down brought out a couple of thousand (pretty big drop from 40000) and alienated the labor movement, one of the only social unions left in the US* * * *then, at the Commonwealth Club, the "anarchists" gave the soft progressive mayor the proverbial finger and alienated the remaining liberals and anyone who believes in the possibility of representational democracy* * * *now, what is Occupy Oakland ? its nothing but a sickly activist organ that is weak and slow enough for the slow anatomical murder of any academic specimen * * * *I guess it will be pickled and put in a jar up at John Yoo University (UC Berkeley) and we can all bicker or praise as one sees fit* * * *and then, there is reality, not a media spectacle, but real democracy, real power, real institutions* * * *not a media sensation, but hard and soft power of everyday things*
