Capital is a social relation.  Where there is wage labour, there is Capital.  Where a human is obliged to sell labour power to an employing class in exchange for giving up control and ownership over the product of labour, there you will discover Capital.  A proletarian has no security outside of the class conscious solidarity of fellow workers.
